Baked Orange Roll Donuts



These baked orange roll donuts are a delightful citrusy treat without the need for icing. The fresh orange juice and zest give them a bright and tangy flavor that's perfect for breakfast or snack time.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • 2 tbsp orange zest
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 375F 190C and grease a donut pan

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt

In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, fresh orange juice, orange zest, vanilla extract, eggs, and buttermilk

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined

Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay

Fill each donut cavity about 2/3 full with the batter

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the donuts spring back when touched lightly and have a golden brown color

Remove the donuts from the oven and let them cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely

Once cooled, your baked orange roll donuts are ready to enjoy!
